Facebook's latest Video Update
Facebook announced the social network will begin phasing in longer videos.
Facebook announced the social network will begin phasing in longer videos in the News Feed through an update to their algorithm.
The update was based upon more
actions being taken on videos including duration of viewing, enabling sound and
switching to full screen to name a few.
How does this impact My Page?
The social media giant
continues to tune the platform to be more video focused and
advises page admins to focus on the story they're telling and not
duration.
Since October 2015, the company has
added features like "Saved", to make it easy for a fan to return to
the videos they're interested in, "Favorites" a dedicated section for
the web, "Discovery" a dedicated place on their mobile app where you
can watch videos, "Video Calling" through messenger so you can see
that smiling face of those who matter in your life and the list goes on.
Next Steps
These changes will be phased in and rolled out gradually over time but some of
them most likely within less than one month.
